                                      Hey hi all welcome to my 1st CFW thread.
                                                      Nokia StarK -Simple Yet Powerul !!!

This is my 1st fw release.
Completely tested.
If you find any bugs, please report here. Also suggestions are welcome.


Credits:

- Devilyazdan (As I know him only in this forum ;))
- thanhhaifire from tinhte.vn site from where I took the N97mini port to 5800 V52.0.101.

Main Advantages that you don’t see in Other Firmware’s:

Max RAM ~  72MB (see screenshots)
Average RAM ~  56-64MB

1. No need to format your MMC. Firmware will do it for you. Check FAQ for more details.

2. Place some SIS installers in E:\others\AI\e\ folder. This will Auto copy the files to E:\thinkchange\e\

3. 2 icons (N8 or E7 Mixed) pack can be used. By default E7 mixed icons were used. If you want N8 icons copy the files from attachment and place them in \Rofs2.

NOTE:You must follow the Instructions from the readme file.On Ignoring those instructions,there will be a conflict of icons in OVI Maps.

4. 2 menu views can be used (3x4 and 4x4).By default 3x4 is used. To change press “MenuSwitch” in tools folder.Optimized for 4x4(Recommended).

5. 3 one touch icons now available in dialer.
Long press * for Bluetooth receiver.
Long press 0 for Accel switch.
Long press # for profile switch (default option).

6. 4 equalizer sets added in musicplayer by default.

7. BTSwitch added in media bar instead of share online. Now you can switch on or off Bluetooth via MediaBar

8. Vibration enabled when call connects/disconnects. Note vibration should be enabled in profile settings.Thanks to binh24.

9. Uda Modded with applications.As you all know the files in uda goes to c drive,but in this cfw all those applications will directly goto “E:\thinkchange\c\” folder.Saves Space !!!


Mods not used:

- Full screen QWERTY keyboard mod not used. Because when used there are some errors with mini QWERTY, But added 4 row qwerty layout.

- Sym^3 Clock Widget not used.Because when used the clock does not move/remove in hs and there is no “Edit active profile” option in profile option.

- No light mods used.Only green light while charging is used.

Mods added in StarK :

- Optimized the CPU related Settings even more to Create a Perfect Balance between Speed and Battery Life
- N8 Portrait Menu Layout by dan-av.
- Extended Menu, Shrinked the network and battery icons to the top on Menu.
- "Camera Already in Use" error fixed with working touch screen "capture button".
- Now Music Player will not return you to Menu after exiting it.
- Now PC/OVI Suite (and even your PC) will detect the phone as "Nokia StarK" and display the picture of a Nokia C6-00. You may need to reinstall PC/OVI Suite.
- Now you can set AutoKeyguardLock time.Even 1 minute can also be used.
- Default theme : Black by giulio7g with Default Icons
- N8 (Symbian^3) fonts are used with 7 pages Alpha numeric keyboard Symbols.
- ISMS 1.13 integrated in messaging.
- New Alpha numeric keyboard layout used.
- New Landscape Mod added.
- Gallery will not show images from E:\StarK\
- Changed the default widgets layout. Nokia Notifications widget comes preinstalled.
- "ShareOnline" button replaced with "Delete" in Photo Gallery, A mod by dan-av
- Optimized speedy theme effects used with Particles(Bubbles).Extremely mixed from various cfw’s.

Note only integrated apps in the cfw is supplied,so I recommend to install them all.

Performance Upgrades:

- Highly Increased Application/Gaming frame rates
- Increased Response Rate (Now touchscreen will be more responsive)
- CPU frames render was increased.This will result in a smooth phone experience.
- Graphical Complexity reduced. Performance Booster without any side effects.
- Music Player response highly increased (Instantly pauses/plays on clicking the buttons)
- Reduced effects complexity which should result in a speed increase.
- Increased Heap Size further to boost up performance
- Lags in Menu, messaging and Other Large Applications removed
- Polished the UI for heavy usage
- Phone will never slow down and the RAM won't be decreasing (RAM Caching modded)

General Modifications :

- "Restart" Option instead of "Lock Screen and Keys" in Power Menu by CODeRUS.
- Full Mixed N8/E7 IconPack is used (With 0 bugs) Now icons change according to the theme applied.
- C5 tap to Unlock added.
- PC/OVI Suite will recognise your phone as Nokia N97 mini. However every website including OVI Store will recognise your phone as Nokia N97 mini
- Camera will not eat RAM after closing it.
- Default Browser user agent changed to the one of N97 mini. So OVI store and some other sites will recognise your phone as Nokia N97 mini
- C5-03 Keyboard Layout added.
- Swap Buttons "OK" and "Mode Switch" in Alpha-numeric keyboard for port N97
- Female Voice (Ellen) added in Message Reader app.
- N8 Camera Autofocus tone used.
- N8 camera Click tone used.
- Camera Sound will be disabled if you use Capture Tone 3.
- "Nokia Tune" from N8 added.
- Display lights timeout time set to 30 seconds and automatic keyguard time set to 40 seconds.
- Default bluetooth name: Nokia StarK
- FOTA reserved space removed to get more space in C:\ (Phone Memory)
- USB now will name as Nokia StarK

- Default Web Browser bookmarks are edited.
- Lags in Menu removed. The Kinetic Scrolling is optimized (It is no very fast not very slow)
- Display rotation is OFF by default
- Breathing light is OFF by default
- 24H Digital clock set as default. N8 Clock fonts used so the digital clock now looks like the N8 clock
- Operator Logo ON/OFF settings available in homescreen settings
- Delivery Reports ON by default in Messaging
- Theme effects are OFF by default
- Removed "Automatic Check for Updates" function that appears after flash.
- "Summary after call" and "speed dialing" ON by default
- "In call timer" ON by default
- Call volume is set to maximum by default.
- Profile "General" renamed to "StarK"
- Homescreen landscape enabled. Dialer landscape disabled
- Lags in Messaging apps removed

Bugs Fixed :

- Nokia's idiotic Radio bug completely fixed. Now RDS works fine!
- Now Messaging app doesn't show two New e-mail options anymore.
- Now Messaging app doesn't lag when scrolling through a long messages list.
- Multilanguage support. Now use StarK in your desired language without facing any bugs.
- Icons bug Fixed. Real Player icons are back as original

HomeScreen:

- Widgetized Nokia C6 Homescreen
- "+" Symbol added in widget edit Menu
- Full widgets support
- N97/N97 mini widgets can now be installed
- 3 Additional shortcuts bar. Total : 5

GRAPHICAL PERSONALISATIONS:

- StarK Splashscreen and Shutdownscreen.
- Memory card symbol enabled.
- 3G/3.5G symbol replaced with 4G symbol.Now it will show as 4G instead of 3/3.5G. Edge(2G) Symbol untouched.
- New signal,battery icon included.
- Two dots used in dialler button.
- Enabled Shutdown message
- Bootscreen Volume set to : 10
- Custom Boot/Shutdown animation locations

INSTALLATION FEATURES:

- Java permission is set to default
- Real Hack (modded installserver.exe by PNHT)
- SwiPolicy changed which enable to install almost apps without RomPatcher patch (Works 99%)
- Secure Widget Preinstall (OVI Store Installer) will not run on first startup but will install at one click from menu icon. Latest OviStore Added.

LIGHTS BEHAVIOUR:

BROWSER:

- Added "View Images" in options>Display Settings
- Download manager will be started on browser start-up to resume
- Browser now can be rotated in landscape even sensor off, by going to options while browsing
- Browser will prompt to continue download if there was a power failure
- Browser Cache moved to E:\ and increased to 50MB

FILE MANAGER:

- Nokia default file browser can send sisx, sis, jar and any protected items via bluetooth, mms and uploads
- Nokia default file browser will show system folders in E:\

MULTIMEDIA:

- Camera will not leave in background after close it (SAVES RAM)
- Camera Image Quality improved
- Video Stabilization mod used
- Gallery searching improved
- Music,Tv-videos,Photos homescreens optimized
- Share Online in Gallery replaced by Delete button
- "Nokia PhotoBrowser" integrated in Photos Homescreeen
- OVI Music removed in Music Homescreen
- Video Capture predefined frame rate increased
- Music Player will read E:\Music\
- Music player refresh faster
- Music Player is now a lot faster!
- Added Equalizer mod by vova
- Disabled "goto music store" in music player
- 4 new equalizer set added by default

- Disable LED 5800(Disables Led on Video)
- RemoveRecordTone 5800(Removes record tone while calling)

Instruction's after Flash:

1. Wait 5 seconds in country selection menu.(Because formatting of MMC will be carried out at that time)
2. Play with your phone for few minutes(say 5 to 10 minutes) and do a restart.
3. Thats all done. Happy Stark !!! 

Things i noticed in N97 fw:

1. RAM Boost !!!!!
2. Opera Mini never crashed  ;D ;D
3. Good Battery backup !!

Can I Add/Remove Language too the CFW?

   -Yes You can Do it manually.. There is a language GUI tool which makes our job easier.Just Head over Here

   -Complete tutorial for adding languages is available at the end of this message.

CFW Says it will format my MMC, Is dat true ?

   Yes. But its a Masked formatting. Means that the dependency folders like (private,sys,resource,system) only gets formatted/erased. So dont be scared all your pics,medias,datas will not be erased.

How to take backup of my data?

   1. Copy your contacts to your Sim card/ Memory card.
   2. Take backup of Messages, Calender, Notes and Bookmarks in Nokia Content Copier via Nokia PC Suite.
   3. After flashing, Restore the contents from Nokia Content Copier and copy contacts from Sim Card/ Memory Card.

How to get Favourite Contacts?

       1. Copy your contacts to your Sim card/ Memory card.
       2. After flashing, Restore the contacts from Sim Card/ Memory Card.
       3. Goto Contacts --> Options --> Copy Business Card --> From Other Memory

How do I restore the App(s) that you have removed from the firmware?

If the app you need, falls in the following list, then you need to follow certain steps.

   -Drawing
   -Zip Manager
   -Nokia
   -Welcome
   -About
   -Ovi Contacts
   -Phone Switch
   -Notes
   -Online Support
   -Ovi Sync
   -Ovi Store
   -Share Online
   -Image Editor
   -Chat
   -Image print
   -Video call (Only for 523x Users)

Now follow the Guide:

       1. Open our rofs2 using Nokia FW Editor. Download Nokia FW Editor
       2. Keep the Nokia FW Editor window open.
       3. Download Backup Apps (attached) and Nokia FW Cleaner
       4. Open Nokia FW Cleaner Folder. Copy these files to the 'back' folder. In case there are any other files there, delete them.
       5. Open NFW Cleaner. If u don't have, let us know.
       6. Give the location to the rofs2 folder of NFW Editor.
       7. In The NFW Cleaner window, hit the 'Return' button.
       8. Repack the FW through Nokia FW Editor, copy it in Products Folder and Flash


Note: If u wish to add only a certain apps, then Delete the Apps which you
Don't need and then copy it to the back folder.

Why can't I access Settings, Connection Manager and/or Phone Management?

       Use the Multilanguage Fix (attached)

I get an extra theme which says 'Theme Corrupt' with some numbers and extension '.skn', like 200250EE.skn

      Open Nokia Firmware Editor (0.7 Beta or 0.3 Std) and Delete the following files:
       \private\2007114\import\200250EE.skn     (In your case, it will be this number)
       \resource\skins\200250EE.skn                 (In your case, it will be this number)

Why aren't the message notifications showing up?

Nokia Notifications has been installed and is being used (as a widget) from the homescreen. One wouldn't be able to see the notifications of a new message as the pop-up gets disabled.
Simply change the widget on the Homescreen of your device.

How to disable the message notifications?

       Use Nokia Notifications Widget (attached)

How to add Languages to the firmware?

       -Using navifirm download the N97 mini version's ROFS2,that has your language and extract it with NFE std.In NFE std goto tools->Language manager->import/export langs and select ur language and click export.

       -Now extract StarK 's ROFS2 and goto tools->Language manager->import/export langs.Select the exported language(that u exported in step1) and now click import.

       -Repack the ROFS2 and flash.
       
       Use the Multi-language Fix when only there occurs a problem (Multi Language fix - attached)

Note: Some Languages are attached here.

How to increase the RAM of the system?

      1.Use RAM Blow and Kill Me (integrated) applications to get more out of your mobile!
       2.Switch off the theme effects and clear all your widgets on the HS. The system will boost!

Ntuh ada yg buat v52.0.007 bang,mantaf bang cfw ini.Ane dah tosting kemaren,ram jarang di bawah 50mb setelah hard running.

Salah oom,cukup pake core dan final aja.Setelah di extract ada 6 file,nah pake 6file ini dan langsung flash.Jangan join lg ama fw ori ato yg lainnya,semua file udah lengkap di core dan final.

Yup benar.
Untuk versi terserah mau yg mana,kalo tube nya bleks v007 ya pilih v007,ato kalo mau upgrade ya pilih v101.
Asalkan jgn tubenya bleks v101 lalu milih yg v007,ntuh dongrade bisa KOIT tube nya.
Kalo untuk bagusnya sih relatif,ga beda2 amat apalagi udah di cfw.Beda kalo bukan cfw.
